Today I hiked alone in Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park because my group was doing a bike ride. Having not ridden a bike in many years, I decided not to because broken or bruised body parts is not my idea of a great vacation. However, although I didn’t ride with them I left the house with them, lonnnng before the crack of dawn so they could get to Cades Cove early enough to rent bikes. The upside was the sight of the sun rising behind the mountains.
Hiking alone today was not an issue because there were many cyclists, runners and walkers out doing their thing.
I was in the right place at the right time to capture video of a doe and her fawn running towards me. They then graciously stopped long enough for me to get still photos.
Then there were butterflies, more deer, wild turkey and horses.
Awesome views, pretty flowers, trees, and water.
Beautiful! Lots of nature and NO BEARS!! Perfect day!!

I’m really enjoying the scenery from these hikes, especially the flowers.
